Design of Digital Clock Using Decade Counters 74190

By Jonathan Kashabira Baraka (Teammate: Hafiz Adjei)

bridge circuit

Introduction

This project presents a sophisticated digital clock implemented through the seamless integration of key integrated circuits (ICs) such as the 74190 decade counters, BCD-to-7-segment display (7448), and multiplexers (74HC154). The design incorporates additional logic consolidation through the strategic utilization of ICs like the 7410, 7404, and 7400. The entire system has been meticulously simulated using Proteus, ensuring accuracy and reliability in its functionality. The clock has an additional feature of beep every 15 minutes. This was realized with 74190 decade counters connected as modulo-15. Furthermore, this is a 12-hour clock which has a push button to set the minutes and hours through the use of multiplexer.
